Civil War Reenactment

by Zephyr Goza
Kansas City, MO - May, 2002 -

Don't like loud noises? Don't go to see a Civil War reenacted . . . unless you have strong earplugs.

However, action movie fans will love one of these. Smoke everywhere, pops, booms, screams, galloping horses doing tricks and pure confusion litters the field, which stinks of sulfur.

The Union Cavalary
The U.S. Army supplied the Union Cavalry - exhibiting excellent horsemanship

But fighting wasn't the only activity at the Saturday, May 9th Shoal Creek reenactment. There were also games, (no, NOT video games!) 1800's fashion show for the ladies, a blacksmith, stables, a barn dance and a lunch to top off the battle. Sound like a day? It is. This activity comes highly recommended by the Act!vated Storytellers.
