Shows for School Assemblies

Shows for assembly programs and school family nights are designed to help schools meet curriculum standards in Fine Arts, English and World History.
The Act!vated Storytellers invite students to come along for a voyage of the imagination to foreign lands, distant eras and colorful cultures. Since 1988, thousands of elementary, middle school and Jr. High students (and teachers) have laughed and learned as the Act!vated Storytellers have held them spellbound during school assemblies in 44 states plus Washington, D.C.

We bring the theatrical productions to your school, no buses or transportation hassles.
Folklore and performing arts enrich the lives of children by broadening their perspective and providing them with inspiring and thought-provoking stories. The multiultural folktales presented are carefully selected to illustrate and encourage positive character traits such as independent thinking, creativity, self-esteem, motivation, determination and respect for others.
The assembly programs also stress the importance of reading, and help instill a fascination with books.

The performers arrive at the school one hour before the presentation is scheduled to begin, to set up the oversized "book" which serves as the backdrop for the tales they spin - each page represents a different scene. One half hour before assembly time, the performers will train up to 12 student volunteers to play a role in each performance; some may have the opportunity to speak lines. Their participation not only boosts their own confidence and sense of artistic expression, but also provides an example to encourage their peers.
After the performance, students are encouraged to ask the performers questions, time permitting.
School Family Nights
In addition to day time school assemblies the Act!vated Storyteller perform family shows for Family Nights at schools. Family Nights may scheduled with or without school assemblies.
Family Nights are typically scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
During student assemblies, the Act!vated Storytellers invite all the students to bring their parents to school that evening for more act!vated stories!
If day time assemblies are scheduled with a Family Night, different stories will be presented at each so that no one will see the same show twice.
